"Bueno! Bueno! Bueno! Where have you been all my life...or for the past seven years anyway? For the past seven years, I have travelled to New Mexico during chile harvest season, my mom thinks it's to visit her, but actually it is to purchase my annual supply of both red and green chile. (J/K)! In the spring time my mother travels here and brings another large supply of chile. I could not believe that in a city of 4 million plus people, there is no "Bueno" chile. I have shared my "secret" recipe with fellow co-workers, neighbors, and friends and think I'm the best cook around and 'to think I reap and sow my own crops'. (Imagine that...smile). Either way, I find myself getting stingier and stingier as my supply runs low. And to make matters worse, my brother came to visit for New Years and asked to "borrow" a few frozen bags since he would be moving to Atlanta. Needless to say I'm broke...chile wise anyway. I came across your website and I am estatic. I'm forwarding your site to my brother and a bill for the replacement...just kidding. Thanks a bunch. You cannot imagine a life without New Mexican cooking. Menudo here is made with powdered chile. There is absolutely no sting in anything. I guess you don't know what you have until it is gone."

"Thank you customer service for making my year! I lived in ABQ for 20 years and am a devoted chile fanatic. Since moving to North Carolina (where they think spices are salt and pepper), I have had problems with chile acquisition. I have been traveling to ABQ every year at chile harvest, putting 30 lbs. of the 35 lb. sack into a spare suitcase (raw) and putting it on the plane. I haven't been stopped yet. However, as more of my friends and co-workers have gotten addicted to my NM cooking, I have had to get stingy with my chile cooking or I won't make it through the winter. THEN I remembered frozen BUENO®! I searched high and low and finally got in touch with customer service tonight. My order has been placed and my friends actually want to pay for it! I'll never be without again. Thanks Bueno. You're the best."

"My husband and I used to work in radio and our jobs took us all over the country. Consequently, we lived for a year in Albuquerque and worked for a station in Santa Fe. (Recall McCoy and the Bean?) I was pregnant with our second son and was terribly ill with morning sickness. A friend of ours who was half Navajo and half Mexican sat me down and taught me his mother's green chile stew recipe and tutored me in red sauce. I became addicted, my morning sickness eventually passed, and our son Stephen was born. (We thought he would either be green or red - green second trimester - red, the third).
Sadly, the radio station was sold and we moved to Oklahoma. We made one trip back to the Land of Enchantment and lugged a full-sized industrial bag of frozen BUENO® containers onto the return plane. The security guy couldn't believe it. He clearly thought we were nuts, but let us carry the huge bag on. That was ten years ago.
When we moved home to Ohio four years ago I called all over to find your products. No one knew what I was talking about. There's a lot of chef mex here, but no good New Mexican. (No one has the faintest idea what green chile stew is.) We were forced to settle for canned - no comparison. I was astounded to run across on the net a chile grower from Texas who told me that you had a web site. We were thrilled and immediately ordered both red and green. The products arrived in a timely manner - well packed and perfect!
We haven't had the opportunity to take Stephen back to New Mexico since that initial return trip - but he considers himself New Mexican and is very proud of his brief citizenship! Until we're able to return for a visit, this tradition serves as a lovely reminder of our wonderful year living in New Mexico! Thank you so much!"

"My husband and I are both from Los Lunas where we grew up eating a lot of green chile. Now we are a military family at Ft. Benning, GA. Down here in the South, they have no clue what good Mexican food is, or what green chile is. When my husband wanted green chile or sopaipillas, we would have to wait until his mother would come to visit. Not anymore, now that I can order off the Internet! Now my husband doesn't have to bug me about green chile anymore. Hopefully if he does have to go to war, I don't want him thinking about green chile."

"Hey all you Bueno People!! I just found out you had a web site and I couldn't be any happier. Being from a large Hispanic family and raised on Bueno foods, I really took it for granted that our foods would be very easy to find. When I moved away from my hometown in Santa Fe, I was in for a huge surprise!! I joined the military some time ago and had my mom send me chile through the mail. But, to no avail there was no chance at getting any green chile anywhere!! And trying the local stores was not cutting it! The only time I ever got this kind of hot great-tasting chile was at home in New Mexico!! I sure do miss it!!
"Now, I'm an entertainer in a band in Mississippi and they have quite a bit of Cajun food and plenty of Mexican restaurants here, but there are no authentic Bueno-serving restaurants here!! So, now that I know you ship chile, my next paycheck is going to be spent on ordering a bunch of BUENO® products!! Yeah!!! You just don't know how you have made my day and all of my friends' day too! Because around here I am the Mexican chef!!! I can't wait to make my green chile enchiladas with hot BUENO® chile and watch my friends sweat and talk about my dishes and where to order the supplies on line!! Thank you sooooooo much!"

"I was born and raised in Albuquerque and have been in Portland, OR for almost 9 years now... People out here don't know what REAL chile is..and if it weren't for Bueno, I don't think I could have made it this long. There is really no Mexican food here, and when you ask for green chile they give you some sort of green verde sauce//what's up with that??? Anyway thanks for being there for me."

"Oh my GOD! I feel so warm inside and believe it or not, but a tear came to my eye when I found this website! I am a native of New Mexico. I lived there my entire life, until just four years ago, when I moved to Florida. Every year my mom sends me a sack of green chile so that my boyfriend and I can roast. We have a great time with our own little roasting party. We set up the grill outside, pop open a Corona and roast all day long. Then we end the day with Rellenos! The problem is that we run out of chile fast! So the rest of the year is a drag without it. I am throwing a party in a few weeks and wanted to make green chile chicken enchiladas as well as red chile beef enchiladas, but I'm out of chile! So I decided to check the internet for red chile and in the end....I found your website! I remember when I used to buy the frozen BUENO® Red Chile at the store and make enchiladas with it. Now, I use powder chile, but I'm so happy that now I have a choice! My friends here in Florida are going to be thrilled to have authentic enchiladas with chile that doesn't come from a can! I can't wait until I receive my order......thank you so much.

"When I lived in Albuquerque, I took the great New Mexican green chile for granted. When I wanted some, I would run to the store and get some. I moved to California 17 years ago and found that the Mexican food in California is VERY different from what I'm used to. The first time I made a traditional New Mexican meal for my family in California, I used the California chile. What a resounding disappointment! The chile in California lacks flavor and heat and comes from a can (I won't mention the O... brand name so as not to offend). When I traveled back to Albuquerque for the annual Balloon Fiesta, I flew out and packed an extra suitcase with packages of BUENO® chile. I didn't buy a lot because at that time I made several trips to Albuquerque each year.
Then I made a truly authentic New Mexican meal for my friends and family in California using BUENO® chile. At first, after the first bite or two, they were not overly impressed (foolishly thinking that it tasted about the same as California chile), but after the radiant heat started to well up within them and their brows and upper lips started to perspire and their noses began to run, the "oohs" and "ahs" were never-ending.
"Now, every time I go back to Albuquerque, I drive. By driving, I can load up the entire back of the truck with an entire freezer full of BUENO® products - red and green chile, posole, masa, etc. My boyfriend, his family, and friends all put in requests for their favorite BUENO® products. Since I only make one or two trips a year now, we have to ration the products I bring home so they last until my next trip to New Mexico. We even purchased an extra freezer in which to store all of the fresh New Mexico chile products! Yummers!!!!
"I just took a batch of Posole in to work and my co-workers loved it! Now they are begging for the recipe and want to know where they can get the posole corn and red chile. I turned them on to your website, so get ready for lots of orders!"

"Having grown up in Albuquerque, I learned at an early age to appreciate the wonderful cuisine of the area. The hotter the better was our motto. We lived on the BUENO® hot green chile, red chile and when your enchiladas came out when I was pregnant, that's all I ate! We transferred to Houston a year ago and I can not find any food that is comparable to anything from New Mexico, much less BUENO®. We're dying over here! When I tell people we put chile on pizza, burgers, steaks, in eggs, you name it they think we're nuts. In short, Tex-Mex
is no BUENO!"

"My family and I just returned from a trip to Pagosa Springs, Colo. While we were there, we discovered a restaurant, Dorthy's, that served the best green chile any of us had ever tasted (and we are green chile experts!). We begged the owner, Dorothy Trefethen, to give us her green chile recipe, but she's keeping it a secret. However, she did tell us that she uses BUENO® green chiles. I will be ordering some soon because I'm pretty certain it was the chiles that made her green chile so special."

"My co-workers and my family all enjoy my homemade Mexican food made with products from your store in Albuquerque. I was transplanted from Indiana to New Mexico (Grants, Albuquerque, El Rito, Las Cruces) and then transplanted back to Indiana when my parents were ill 35 years later. I miss chile (both green and red) - sometimes as much as I miss my two children and grandchildren in Albuquerque. I crave chile! I have ordered from other places in New Mexico also. BUENO® is my favorite. I don't know why we can't have the items in our little town. I'm going to try. I would love some real tortillas. I have resorted to making my own. El Rito and Grants friends have taught me how to cook. I will be visiting there soon and will bring back what I can carry on an airplane."

"My children and I lived in New Mexico for 20 years and enjoyed the autumn season when you could drive through Albuquerque and smell the chile roasting. Our tradition was to purchase a big sack of green chile, have it roasted and bring it home to peel and freeze. We would eat it all winter.
"We recently moved to Atlanta, Georgia and there isn't a decent chile to be found. The canned chile is more for color than for flavor and the word "hot" doesn't exist on any brand. Comfort food for us includes tamales at Christmas, stuffed sopaipillas with green chile and our favorite enchiladas, red or green. I have friends who would send me the occasional bag of red chile but the green eluded us, until recently. I was delighted to find Bueno Foods' web site and made my first of many orders of the red and green chile combination. I share it with my daughter and her family and I savor it because it is so good.
"I just placed an order through your mail order program and can't wait to come home from work and see that box waiting for me on the porch.
"Thank you Bueno Foods."
